Follow Thru Rise Above Inhibitions Via ‘Banner Days’

For people who are consciously and continuously trying to reach their full potential, there’s always obstacles that get in the way. It can be a mental or physical thing that needs to be confronted and dealt with, and it’s something that’s especially true during these uncertain times. There are numerous ways to go about this, but as an effort to provide commentary on this aspect of reality and relate to anyone who’s experiencing it, Providence punks Follow Thru have a new single out today (June 10). The tune goes by the title “Banner Days,” and it’s ideal listening material for fans of bands like Hot Water Music and Millencolin. It’s also off of the debut full-length Eat Your Heart Out that’s due to be released later in the year.

For the recording process of the upcoming album, the band went down to New Bedford, Massachusetts to head into Anchor End Studio with Trevor Reilly handling the engineering and production. “Banner Days” provides a preview of what to expect with electrifying riffs, emphatic vocals, and an energetic sound.

“Writing ‘Banner Days’ was an encapsulation of that feeling of wanting to do so much more, be so much more, but the world around you feels bent on keeping you down,” lead singer Ryan O’Keefe says about the tune via a press release. “It felt like the right song to introduce the album, which has a lot of themes surrounding burn out, doubt, and self-reflection.”

Follow Thru’s brand of punk is very genuine and uplifting, which is echoed through the song they’ve just released.
