Are Men and Women Truly Equal in Society Today?

Women have never been handed equality willingly; throughout history, they have had to fight for their right to education, freedom, respect, and opportunities. While men were often treated with privilege and authority by default, women were expected to remain silent, obedient, and dependent. Even today, women continue to face discrimination, safety concerns, unequal pay, and constant judgment, despite working just as hard — often harder — to prove themselves. Every right women have today was earned through struggle, courage, and sacrifice, not simply given by society. And after all these battles, society still proudly claims, “We provide equality.” But if equality truly existed, why do women still have to fight so hard just to be treated as equal human beings?

Society proudly says, “We provide equality,” but words alone mean nothing when equality is rarely implemented in real life. If equality truly existed, women would not still have to fight every day just to receive the respect and opportunities they already deserve.
