Title: “When the Summer Seeks Me.”
Thick curtains covered the windows of my room; I was having a deep sleep in my warm bed. Beneath the blankets, hiding my best life, I heard it whisper, “Go to sleep till summer comes.” Soon, the sun came to seek me, bringing warmth and positive energy to begin a new day. In the depths of winter, I finally learned that there was an invincible summer.
My love for hiding in winter, with the pleasure of being found in summer, made me recognize my ability to be a witty seeker and proficient hider in the ‘Hide and Seek’ game.
Some of my earliest memories of playing hide and seek date back to elementary school; As a young child, I had developed the brainpower to think of new areas to hide. However, there was always a fear of getting caught. As I played it out over time, I began to chase the fear with a wild lust and the fiery passion of facing my insecurities; this fear ultimately nourished my courage.
I learned to calm down and remain relaxed, which gave me less possibility of getting caught up. Sometimes my friends would ask me to hide them in my “secretive places.” But, there were no such “secretive places”; it was just being fearless and trusting your instincts. When I hid behind the trees, I tried to be a natural shade, or when I hid behind the buildings, I pretended to be a rigid body; all was about adapting to the situation. Now, I induce myself in any circumstance, shape, or time and always find out my correlations for the true hallmark of bravery. When I am a seeker, even if I see my friends hiding, I don’t catch them immediately. Pretending not to see them, I would look around and give them the time to reflect and find their “secretive places.”
Being successful together with my friends is more important to me; it is the values we share and teach one another. And I will forever pursue the sense of unity and harmony, which I have induced from “hide and seek.”
Now, when the winter comes, the summer shines infinitely in my heart; their togetherness always makes my paths cross with the hope of light. And I hope in coming days, my endless cycles of winters and summers will be at Medium.
