A Lovely Plant Walk

A plant lover’s joy in a neighboring city

Yesterday, I visited a neighboring city, a friend’s place. When I go there, I always make sure to explore the neighborhood. My goal is to enjoy the plants. There were lots of Jacaranda trees around the house, and in summer bloom, they have beautiful clusters of flowers. Flowers had fallen everywhere, creating surreal views.

On the way to the farm, I came across tufts of Cleveland sages. They are native, fragrant and belong to the mint family.

There were varieties of tomato plants with abundant green tomatoes.

The persimmon Fuyu were growing too.

My little son picked some zucchini and cucumber from the farm raised beds.

There was a huge pine tree. I learned that this variety is called Stone Pine. It can easily grow up to 25 meters in height. I wonder about the age of that tree. It could easily be 50 years old. I felt humble as I sat on a chair on wooden platform under the canopy of this colossal conifer.

There were lovely succulents. They looked even more beautiful with the amber glow.

I ran on the grass lawn, which was littered with sycamore leaves. It was very pleasant.
