Filmax Cinemas Ticket Sales Analysis Interactive Dashboard โ Dark Mode
Project Overview
Developed an interactive Microsoft Excel dashboard to analyze third-quarter ticket sales performance for Filmax Cinemas, a movie theatre chain operating across California, New York, Texas, and Florida.
The dashboard transforms transactional sales data into actionable insights, enabling management to monitor revenue trends, customer demand, movie performance, and operational efficiency.
Business Problem
Filmax Cinemas lacked detailed visibility into ticket sales performance, making it difficult for management to identify high-performing movies, profitable ticket categories, peak showtimes, and top-performing branches. As a result, scheduling, pricing, marketing, and operational decisions were often based on assumptions rather than data
About the Dataset
The analysis was performed using 2,000 ticket sales transactions collected during the third quarter (JulyโSeptember).
Dataset included:
- Sales ID
- Movie Name
- Show Date
- Month & Weekday
- Showtime
- Ticket Category
- Tickets Sold
- Ticket Price
- Revenue
- Payment Method
- Cinema Branch
Key Metrics
- Total Revenue: $95,765
- Total Orders: 2,000
- Tickets Sold: 6,026
Data Preparation
To ensure accurate analysis, the dataset was cleaned and validated by:
- Removing duplicate records
- Verifying unique Sales IDs
- Checking for missing values
- Standardizing category names and date formats
- Validating data types
- Creating Month and Weekday fields for time-based analysis
Dashboard Features
The dashboard was built using:
- Pivot Tables
- Pivot Charts
- KPI Cards
- Bar Charts
- Doughnut Charts
- Geographic Map
- Interactive Slicers
The dashboard provides analysis across:
- Revenue Trends
