Compassion
It is time to spare a selfless minute.
Compassion
It is time to spare a selfless minute.

It spreads like dread and ripples Though it hardly makes a sound The death, despair, and crying After the final round.
I have no fear, and it is clear Each day’s another gift But those I know are hurting Find the final bell too swift.
I’ve lost friends and companions And some by their own hand Then I watch the wars Blurred footsteps in the sand.
Those who know the torment The agony and pain With war as they swelter Life will never be the same.
I gauge my disillusionment Against so many lost And know we are the privileged Whilst others bear the cost.
As thy leaders spread lies And ways to save their skins Is someone counting The endless feckless sins.
It’s time for some compassion Some understanding too And counter our own passion It’s up to me and you.
Spend a selfless minute An hour or a day In sending love to the world In pain so far away!
