A 2-Wheeled Visitor & A Very Busy Week

This week, we had a visitor. He arrived on a fancy bike, which we all trooped out to admire.

This is someone we haven’t seen since FantastiCon days, so it was good to catch up.

I used to have a motorbike. I loved it. It made the daily commute so much easier. However, I haven’t ridden one since the day an elderly man thought it would be a good idea to do a U-turn on a main road just round a blind corner, and failed to spot me coming. As luck would have it, he only wrote off the bike.

An Eye For Detail

A while ago, we had a trip to an extraordinary place:

The people in this place did some magical eye surgery on the spouse’s left eye. Within a couple of days of that op, his vision in that eye improved massively.

To avoid post-eye-surgery problems, we have been undergoing a stringent eye-drop regime; one type of eye drop administered 4 times a day, and another 3 times a day. This week coincided with the Caped Crusader’s family being away, leaving us in charge of her schedule. And, of course, the day-to-day routine rolls on — feeding the Cartwrights, collecting the eggs (from all manner of strange corners) and so on.

The point being that I already had a bunch of daily alerts on my phone, and this week, I’ve had to add seven more. It felt as though I couldn’t draw breath without the phone buzzing to tell me the next task was ready to be done.

After the first frenetic day, I didn’t think I would make it to the end of the week without getting in such a spin that I would kick the spouse out into the garden, try to administer eye drops to a hen, all whilst berating the Caped Crusader for not laying eggs in the nest box.

However, we made it unscathed.

Sunrise / Sunset / Weather

We had sunsets, too, but they evaded my camera. The weather has see-sawed between dry and rainy, windy and still.

The only thing that remained the same was the temperature — cold!
