You Won’t Believe What This New Study Is Calling Women

There has always been an easy way to insult a woman who marries a wealthy man, and that is to call her a gold digger. People have believed for a very long time that women only want men for their money and nothing more. A woman marries a wealthy man and everyone assumes she did it for his bank account. A woman leaves a bad marriage and people say she is only doing it for the alimony. A woman dates someone successful and our patriarchal society is sure she could not possibly love him for anything other than what he provides.

Women are gold diggers, hypergamous, manipulative, and heartless, along with every other degrading term men have invented, all to build the narrative that women are little more than whores who are incapable of real love. And now there is a study that claims to prove it, one that calls women not just gold diggers but psychopaths as well.

The Study That Called Women Gold Diggers and Psychopaths

In 2026, a study named “Mercenary predators: Individual characteristics of gold diggers” was published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, written by Lennart Freyth and Peter K. Jonason. According to the study, the gold diggers in their study were female, and not just female, but reckless, psychopathic, narcissistic, more likely to live in big cities, and more likely to be students.

They defined gold-digging as an exploitative strategy, a deal where a person gives up real intimacy in exchange for getting money and material things out of a partner. In other words, the study described women as cold, scheming, and willing to fake love for financial gain.

The researchers had 351 people fill out a 15-item questionnaire, asking them to choose between things like a wealthy but faithful partner and a faithful partner with no money. Based on those answers, they decided who qualified as a gold digger and who didn’t, and then matched those results against personality traits and background details.

From this, they concluded that gold digging is linked to the darkest parts of human personality, the same traits you find in people who manipulate and use others without guilt. So basically, if this study is to be believed, women scored higher as gold diggers, higher on recklessness and psychopathy, and higher on narcissism, topping the list on every negative trait.

People Will Believe Anything That Blames Women

A study like this was always going to get attention because it gave men exactly what they wanted: the chance to shame women and call it fact. But the problem is that the way this study was conducted is complete garbage, and there is nothing scientific about how they reached their conclusions. The study was based on just 351 people, almost all of them around the same age and many of them students, which is nowhere near enough to make such a huge claim about half the human race.

A small group of young people answering a few survey questions tells you almost nothing about women in general. There are clear scientific rules for this, and they say that before you can make a claim about an entire population, your sample has to be big enough and varied enough to actually represent that population. This study ignored that completely.

Another big problem with this study is its method, because all it really measured was what people said on a survey, not what they actually do. Asking someone to pick between a rich partner and a poor partner on a piece of paper tells you nothing about whether they would ever exploit anyone in real life.

Preferring financial stability is not the same as being a manipulative predator, and acting like the two are one and the same is dishonest. By that logic, every single person who has ever wanted a partner with a steady job is a psychopath, which is obviously ridiculous.

The truth is that women were never allowed to be financially independent to begin with. For thousands of years, women were legally banned from owning property, from working, from earning their own money, and from controlling their own lives.

When a woman is blocked from every way of providing for herself, wanting a partner who can provide is just common sense. Society spent centuries forcing women into total financial dependence on men, and now studies call women gold diggers and psychopaths for caring about whether a man can provide. They created the very behavior they are now calling a personality disorder.

The Real Gold Diggers Have Always Been Men

The reality we can all see with our own eyes is completely different from what this study claims. History is full of women who gave up everything they had for love, women who walked away from fortunes, titles, and crowns to be with men who had nothing.

Today, there are more successful women than ever before, female CEOs, entrepreneurs, and celebrities who earn far more than the men they marry, and they choose those men regardless. Women who could have anyone and anything often marry ordinary men for no reason other than love. If women were truly the calculating gold diggers this study claims, none of that would happen, and yet we see it everywhere

The irony is that if anyone has always chased money, status, and power in relationships, it is men. Men have always married for money, status, and power, and when they did, nobody called them psychopaths. There are countless examples of men marrying into rich families to inherit their wealth. They marry powerful men’s daughters specifically to inherit it all once the father is out of the picture. A man who does it is seen as ambitious, while a woman who does the same thing is called a gold digger.

Meanwhile, women spend their whole lives giving far more than they ever take. A woman gives up her body and her health to bring children into the world. She gives up her name, her time, her career, and her own dreams to hold a family together. As a mother, she sacrifices everything she has for her children and asks for nothing in return.

As a wife, she does most of the work that keeps a family functioning, often while working a job of her own on top of it. Women have always been the ones who sacrifice, and almost none of it is ever acknowledged. Yet after all of that, they are still the ones called selfish and greedy gold diggers. That is the world women live in, and a study like this one just shows once again that women will always be blamed first, no matter what the truth actually is.
