Surrounded by Killers

It is like the old world of insects.

Surrounded by killers.

You can call me paranoid if you want, but in the end, it feels true.

As if the world were really that friendly.

In my mind, it has always been this way.

People play their dark games.

You could call it an old defense mechanism of mine — the tendency to see through those games.

That is simply how I am.

A killer recognizing the killer in others.

Yet in real life, I do not harm anyone.

That is not who I am.

I approach people with kindness and respect.

But the killer lives within the human being.

That is simply a part of us.

In that sense, we are surrounded by killers.

Some more, some less.

Like the darkness within myself that occasionally rises to the surface.

The difference is that I keep it under control.

Perhaps not in the same way as some other people.

Some let it run free.

I suffer from that.

It stirs up my own inner demons.

And then society is quick to label me as “sick.”

Surrounded by killers.

That is how I see it.

Whether they kill a person’s spirit, their emotions, or their body.

One should never lose their instincts.

That is another simple truth.

We have always been surrounded by killers.

And perhaps, on other worlds, we may one day be surrounded by killers there as well.

You have to see through the game.

Otherwise, you become too naive.

That is my simple advice.

Maybe it sounds too harsh for some people.

But I believe there is truth in it.

Do not allow yourself to be blinded.

Face reality as it is.

Yes, it sounds dark when I say that we are surrounded by killers.

But in the end, it has always been this way.

There is nothing new about it.

We simply have to learn how to live with it.

My two cents.

Perhaps these thoughts will help someone.

I always try to preserve my own light

in a sometimes cold world.

To offer something joyful to others.

I believe that is the better path.

And so I remain hopeful,

even in a world that can be hard at times.
