Chapter 1: An Innocent Vow of a 6-year-old Boy

In 1962, a six-year-old boy sat mesmerized before a flickering newsreel. On the screen was Albert Einstein near the end of his life. Even in Princeton Hospital, he was still working, still asking for his notebooks, still reaching for one final equation: a unified theory that might weave the forces of nature into a single framework.

The boy sat awestruck. As emotion welled up in him, he whispered to himself, “Someday, somehow, I want to finish what Einstein started.” That innocent vow etched itself into his heart.

That boy was me, John Wsol.

It took 64 years of curiosity, self-education, doubt, and persistence. In my teens I taught myself mathematics, basic electronics, programming, 3D graphics, and the discipline of observing my own thinking — a practice known as metacognition. Over time, it helped me notice the limits of my understanding and push beyond them.

In my 20s I taught myself SQL, database design, and geometric modeling. I also began questioning inherited assumptions in physics and refining the way I reasoned through them.

Over years of studying the equations of fundamental physics, one mysterious number kept reappearing: the fine-structure constant, approximately 1/137.036, a value that has puzzled physicists for generations. By August 2022, I had an equation that reproduced the CODATA 2018 value to 12 digits.

John Wsol’s equation for 1/α. The Fine-Structure Constant, fulfilling Richard Feynman’s quest.

1/α is the hypotenuse which rules over most of physical reality.

1/α is the hypotenuse which rules over most of physical reality.

By October 2024, I had compiled seven formulas that reproduced Newton’s gravitational constant, . Although the accepted value of is known much less precisely, my own calculations agreed to 15 digits.

Then, in November 2025, I found an eighth relation involving magnetic permeability, μ₀, the fine-structure constant, α, and the natural logarithm of 2. Across all eight equations, the first 15 digits matched. I’ve never heard of any systematic model of physics that had this degree of internal consistency.

I then increased the output precision to 16 digits. Even then, the results from eight equations involving 13 physical quantities differed by no more than 3 in the final digit.

For the first time, I believed I had found a path toward unifying electromagnetism with gravity.

Whether this belief will survive scientific scrutiny remains to be seen.

This is the story of my journey so far.
