A Person Only Has So Much Sunday

By the time it gets here, some of it is already spoken for. Coffee cools. Grass keeps growing. Somebody needs fed. Monday is out there somewhere warming up the truck.
So when you spend part of your Sunday here, I do not take that lightly.
Attention is life in small pieces.
It is a few quiet minutes before the week starts asking again. It is a little room made in a real day by a real person with real weight on them.
When you give any of that to this work, I know what has been trusted to me.
I am not writing for traffic.
I am writing for people.
People who have earned their tiredness. People who still choose decency when bitterness would be easier. People who can laugh without cruelty, tell the truth without losing mercy, and keep walking even after life has handled them rough.
That is not a crowd.
That is a gathering.
And I am grateful for it.
This page has become a small table in a loud world. Nothing fancy. Nothing perfect. Just a place where a person can sit down for a minute and remember there are still folks trying to stay human on purpose.
That matters to me.
Most of you know I write from scars. But I am not here to worship damage or make a monument out of survival. I am trying to turn what I lived through into something useful enough to hand forward.
Truth with dirt on its boots.
Humor that leaves a person’s dignity intact.
A little warmth for ordinary people carrying invisible weight.
That is the work as best as I understand it.
And every time you read, comment, share, or simply carry a line with you into your own life, you help prove something I still believe:
Decency is not dead.
It is quieter than the rest of the room.
That does not make it weak.
So thank you.
Thank you for spending part of your limited Sunday here. Thank you for reading with care. Thank you for reminding me that words still matter when they are used to steady people instead of impress them.
May your Sunday give something back to you today.
May there be one quiet minute the world does not get to spend for you.
And may you remember this before the week starts making demands:
Your life has dignity even when it feels ordinary.
Especially then.
Because ordinary lives are where most of the mercy in this world is carried.
