Thank you dad…
On Father’s Day

My photo of dad and I
Today is Father’s Day and I was just reading a wonderful story from Rosina Surovi Khan
that caused me to remember my own wonderful father.
- His name was Harold but friends called him Hank.
Looking back at my years with him makes me very thankful.
- He was a quiet, and strong presence in my life.
- He had a wonderful sense of humor that outshone many others.
- He was a musician and he taught me so much about grace and peace through his musical abilities.
- He was not brought up in a wealthy home…quite the opposite.
- His stories of his childhood weren’t many but he did tell us that he and his family had been rescued from poverty with the help of the Salvation Army.

- The Salvation Army gave my dad and each of his brothers a brass instrument and taught them how to play them.
- They also provided food for his family (because his father had deserted them.)
- I also believe that the same musical training that my dad had received from the Salvation Army was passed down to my son.
Today I want to thank God for the gift of my father.
I had his love for 34 years.
Such a short time
But I have many amazing memories for sure.
Thank you God, for my dad.
Amen
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful Father’s Day

This story below spurred on my story today.
