Don’t Call Me GOAT — Lebron James

The acronym “GOAT” stands for “Greatest of All Time,” and is often used to describe the best athletes in their respective sports. In the world of basketball, the debate over who should be considered the GOAT has been ongoing for decades, with several players being mentioned as candidates.

Imagine you and your friends are playing basketball. You are all really good at it, and you each have your favourite player that you like to play like.

The GOAT in basketball is like choosing who is the best player of all the people who has ever played the game, even your favourite players! Some people might think that Michael Jordan is the GOAT, others might think it’s LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan or someone else.

It’s like choosing the best ice cream flavour — everyone has a different favourite! But it’s fun to talk about and compare all the great players to see who we think is the best.

Recently we’ve been flooded with news that Lebron James surpassed Kareem Abdul in highest scoring points and he’s the GOAT. Is he the GOAT short answer is yes and no let me explain-

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a former professional basketball player who played 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, and is certainly one of the most dominant big men in the history of the game.

Coming to some stats, Abdul-Jabbar played for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was known for his signature shot, the “skyhook.” He was a six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, and 1980), a 19-time NBA All-Star, and a two-time champion. He is the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, with 38,387 points, and he ranks in the top 10 in several other categories, including rebounds and blocked shots.

Off the court, Abdul-Jabbar has been active in social and political causes, and he is widely respected for his intelligence and character. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995, and his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history continues to inspire and influence young players today.

• Kareem played in an era where centres were the dominant force in the league, while LeBron has played in an era that is more perimeter-oriented.

There’s no debate of GOAT in NBA without the mention of Michael Jordan the man who raised the bar and made NBA to land on the map of sports. For people under the rock Michael Jordan’s NBA career spanned from 1984 to 2003, and he is widely considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the league.

Jordan was drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls in 1984, and he quickly established himself as one of the top players in the league. He won his first scoring title in 1987, and he helped lead the Bulls to their first NBA championship in 1991. Jordan went on to win five more championships with the Bulls, in 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998. He was named the Finals MVP in each of those championship series.

Michael Jordan

During his time with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan was a dominant force on both ends of the court, and he established a reputation as one of the most clutch performers in NBA history. He was known for his ability to score, his relentless competitiveness, and his exceptional athleticism.

In 1993, Jordan retired from the NBA to pursue a career in professional baseball, but he returned to the league in 1995 and continued to play at a high level. He retired for a second time in 1998, but he came back once again in 2001 to play two seasons with the Washington Wizards before retiring for good in 2003.

Throughout his career, Jordan earned numerous accolades, including six NBA championships, five MVP awards, ten scoring titles, and 14 All-Star selections. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the greatest basketball players of all time, and comparing them is a topic of much debate among fans and analysts. So for people who want to know more about Kobe Bryant was an American professional basketball player who spent 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time and one of the most popular and recognizable athletes in the world.

Bryant was drafted out of Lower Merion High School in 1996 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in the league. He won his first championship with the Lakers in 2000 and went on to win four more championships in 2001, 2002, 2009, and 2010. Throughout his career, Bryant was a dominant scorer and a fierce competitor, and he was known for his work ethic and clutch shooting.

Kobe Bryant

Bryant was named to the All-Star team 18 times, and he won two Olympic gold medals as a member of the United States men’s basketball team. He was also named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2008, and he won two scoring titles in 2006 and 2007.

LeBron James is a versatile forward who has been playing in the NBA since 2003. He has won four NBA championships, four MVP awards, and has been selected to the All-Star team 17 times. Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, was a shooting guard who played in the NBA from 1996 to 2016. He won five championships, two Finals MVP awards, and was named to the All-Star team 18 times. Bryant was known for his scoring ability, competitiveness, and work ethic, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

Both LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have had remarkable careers, and choosing between them is largely a matter of personal preference. LeBron’s size and versatility make him a dominant force on the court, while Kobe’s scoring prowess and clutch shooting make him one of the greatest offensive players of all time. Ultimately, both players have made a significant impact on the game of basketball, and they will both be remembered as all-time greats.

After all that perusal I made comparison deliberately to determine that James is having a wonderful career in his era, Kareem, Michael and Kobe had wonderful careers in their span respectively but they never played extensively with each other I know I know that Kobe played with both Michael and James but they didn’t play like Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson, Micheal Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon and present Lebron James, Steph Curry, James Harden and so many others. So they’re not rivals in there times and played with their own space of time so to be fair I feel Karl Malone was single greatest player who couldn’t win NBA championship because of his below mediocre team.

There’s an interesting take by Darvin Ham where he says

For many, the two greatest players ever are James and Michael Jordan, in some order. To some, James’ case is growing with his passing of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, as it’s a sign of his historic longevity, discipline and endurance.

When asked about the GOAT debate, Ham admits he doesn’t like it. Since basketball is a team sport, he thinks the greatest teams should be debated, but not the greatest players.

He doesn’t mind players within the same era, though. And thus, it’s clear to him that James is the best player of his generation.

“He’s definitely the GOAT of this era,” Ham said. “That’s for damn sure.”

Ham is uniquely qualified to weigh in on the Jordan vs. James comparison. He not only played against both of them but also defended them both. He coached against James for over a decade — losing twice to his Cavaliers in the playoffs — before coaching him this season.

He notes that James and Jordan share a similar mental makeup, but believes it’s difficult to compare the two legends given they played in different eras, played different positions and had different playing styles.

Messi vs Ronaldo is a never ending debate some say Messi ended this GOAT debate by winning the world cup and others say one world cup won’t bring down the greatness of Ronaldo see the perception matters and they’re rivals of their own era. I say Messi is the GOAT in Football (Soccer for US) he’s leading in almost all the stats and now with the World cup but you can’t compare with Brazilian footballer Peele(’86 era).
