Direction Challenge #1: Dear Creative People: Let’s Create Something Inspired by a Song.

I am sitting here right next to you, and all you talk about is him, how he made you cry, how another fight left you feeling broken, how you keep wondering if things will ever get better.

I listen to every word. Not because I like hearing about him, but because I want you to let it all out. You don’t have to carry all that pain by yourself.

I care about you… probably more than he ever could. Every time I see tears in your eyes, it hurts me too. But what can I do? Your heart still belongs to him, not me.

The day I saw those bruises after he pushed you in anger, something inside me broke. No one who says they love you should ever make you feel afraid or leave marks on your body. You deserve so much better than that.

I’m not asking you to choose me. I’m not asking you to love me back. I’m just asking for one sign. One sign that you’re ready to leave all this behind.

If that day ever comes, I promise I’ll be there. I’ll take you away from all of this. We don’t have to run from the world — we’ll just find a place where you can finally breathe again. A place where you don’t have to cry yourself to sleep or wonder if today will be another bad day.

I can’t promise a perfect life. Nobody can. But I can promise that I’ll never be the reason you lose your smile. I’ll protect your peace, stand beside you when life gets hard, and remind you every day that love is supposed to make you feel safe, not scared.

Maybe you’ll never look at me the way I look at you. Maybe you’ll always love him. And if that’s what your heart chooses, I’ll respect it.

But if you ever decide you’ve had enough… if you ever reach for my hand… I won’t let go.

Because you deserve a love that feels like home, not a battle you have to survive.
