On having a worldview

Having a worldview is essentially how one perceives the world. It is stepping into the eyes of the other and seeing how they see — i.e if one were to borrow the other’s worldview. Do you believe things are good or it’s gone to shit? Do you believe in a higher power? Do you believe in the inherent goodness of human beings? Do you believe in life being purposeful? It could also be simplistic and not so deeply inherent. It could be do you exist as a shoe wearer or a bare-footer? It is a collection of ideas that help you exist and persist in this world. Your arsenal to pick and choose, like a build your character game. You pick what you like. You pick what you dislike. And then walk in those metaphorical shoes. It’s not like you can’t change your worldview. But, at its core, there should be certain guiding principles or values that light up the path of your worldviews. A worldview need not be singular. It can be all encompassing, it can be bifurcated, it can delve deep or be simple, it can be multicellular or plain old something borrowed or something new. Having a worldview makes life easier. It’s a “hey! the ground you stand on while you crusade the world and wave hello”, so to speak. It is what you believe in and how you are moving in this milky way. Having an I concept is not earthshattering. The I concept can evolve over time and so can its worldview. A worldview is like Thor’s hammer that you use to work your way forward to progress in this world. You can have a worldview that says; “ Despite it all, the world makes things alright, always!” or another one could be “If it’s meant to be, it will be!” Or “All is well, All is good!”
