Your Words Reveal What Your Heart Feels, And The Way It Feels

Make use of what you carry deep inside

I no longer let go of any of my emotions just like that, especially the deep-rooted ones.

Morning time is a fresh start to the day. It is usually filled with a good number of expectations and excitement for getting them done, along with what they bring, and a gentle, positive hope. That makes us look forward and push through.

By the time we arrive in the afternoon, you would have already loaded yourself with the virtues of social media or some diversion in your mindset or the workload and approach, to name a few. You tend to slow down when you reach evening. That becomes the time to sit back, see what you done and how you will go ahead on the next day.

Were they all that you do in a day? Obviously, that is a broad overview. In between, there come the moments where you are laden with thoughts and emotions that you feel indebted for or grief about or some mixed and complex feeling of hope, regret, compassion and even more.

The common observation that I have made and found is that every time I sit for writing, holding my laptop, my dominant emotion overtakes my writing.

It must be impacting similarly for way too. We human beings are emotional beings at the end of the day. We simply cannot detach those emotions from ourselves, however strong we might look outwardly.

If you are a writer, emotion has to be an integral part of both observation and turning them into words.

Whenever I talk about emotions, I simply cannot stop myself from talking about the renowned coach Tony Robbins, who experienced hunger for days during his childhood. When he was just 11 years old, a stranger provided his family with a Thanksgiving meal when they had no food. That act of kindness inspired him to give back to others and motivated his commitment to helping those in need.

The unique and authentic you :

“We live life once when it happens, and again when we write about it.”

We all long to go back to our childhood days and relive them. Practically not possible. They are days of the past. But we can make them alive through our words by putting them vividly, exactly the way they were. While writing about the same makes you visualise and experience them once again to the depth.

Your childhood days are going to be very different from mine or anybody else’s. The way you feel them is going to become your footsteps for narrating about the same.

To give an instance from my school days.

It was a little late in the afternoon that day, with the presence of the sun around. I was still in elementary school. There used to be a well-like structure at the centre of the playground. It was filled with sand to the top. I was playing a run-and-catch game with my friends. While playing, I ran onto the top of that well-like structure. While jumping, my foot slipped and I fell. My head got hit on the stone. It started bleeding profusely.

My home was hardly 500 meters from my school. My parents were informed of the same. They were having lunch along with my grandmother. Hearing that, my grandmother dashed to the gate, unable to stop herself from peeing on the way.

What lies deep inside that not only you value but treasure too:

You and I value a lot many things in our lives. Relationship, time, love, respect, food and money are some of them.

If you ask yourself, you will come up with at least one deep-felt situation associated with the very thing that you value.

We all value time because it is irreversible; it holds the true sense and joy of being alive. Everything falls into place at its due time only.

Whatever age or stage of your life, you are now shows that you have already traversed a certain time and distance in your life. You have made new relations and lost some or many dearest relations too. Every phase and time of your life has taught you something good and also has left some bitter scars.

We talk more about whatever we value the most. Being a child, we talk about our school, family and friends. As we grow young, we talk about studies, friends, games and hobbies. Upon getting matured, we stick more to career, family, time, money, etc.

When we grow up, our values do not change, but they get revived along with our experiences and real-life situations. Subsequently, those values appear in different forms of our expressions.

From those values come the instances of our lives that we hold close to our hearts for almost all of the time.

Emotions make you feel the way you do:

I had a lot of self-doubt when I was about to begin my writing journey. I have talked about the same several times. Fear, being judged and getting fun of are some of them. I was getting sad too for not being able to make it.

It was my desire, the dominant emotion, that helped me find my way.

At times, emotions are transient, but at other times they are deep-rooted. We behave, act or react because of our emotions inside.

Make use of those emotions that touch you, stay with you for long and bring them onto the paper. It is not because you want to sound in a particular way, but it is an inherent part that shows the true picture of what lies within you that you care the most.
