Is All The Poetry For Nothing?
A Meditation to Encourage Reconsideration
Is All The Poetry For Nothing?
A Meditation to Encourage Reconsideration

How many days have I sat down to write a rhyme?
Trying to fill the time, but I deflect to pantomime,
I’ve written my share of rhetoric to fill the empty page,
But I have been forced to accept it is not the rage!
No one wants to hear rhymes about love and kisses,
Relationships are tough, there’s no love, often misses,
Many of us can recall a story of unrequited affection,
I have had my ample share of relationship rejection,
But I’ve promised myself to try to find the good side,
Even though I know for most it is just a bumpy ride,
Broken promises, hidden passions, things not in fashion,
Everyone wants their needs filled first, then the worst,
I’ve been there before where it felt like I was cursed,
But luckily for me, a good match came; it brought hope,
And I promised myself to encourage all of us to cope,
Learning to accept how things are, nurturing better days,
And even if we are sceptical to find moments of praise,
So here is another diligent attempt to encourage strength,
To try to find better friends and lovers at any great length,
To fully commit to encouraging the best, not the worst!
So that our relationships are blessed, not finally cursed!
