Things I have to get out of my head

1. Never argue with someone determined to prove you wrong — you can’t win, even if you’re right.
2. If you put more work into explaining a work of art than into making it, you may want to consider giving up art and become a writer instead.
3. I have a thick skin, but sometimes the internet toxicity gets to me and I just think: screw it! A glass of wine often helps a little.
4. Roz Warren, Writing Coach mentioned The Death Clock, so I went to check it out. Apparently I’m going to die on Sunday, September 20, 2043. That’s only 17 more years, dying at the age of 73. Bummer!
5. The last book I read was over two years ago. I can’t be bothered to read anymore. I even struggle to read longer stories here on Medium. When I see “5 minute read” I think “ugh!” — I found 3, maybe 4 minutes to be acceptable.
6. I can’t believe how much maintenance a pool requires — so not worth it!
7. The wife of a friend just died. She was 45. So many people of my generation are dying quite young — has it always been like this and does everybody experience this?
8. I posted my weekly overview of my daily photos today. One of them was a photo of Badger, our previous hostess’ dog, which I took yesterday. Today she texted us to tell us he had died…
9. When someone in a Medium community on social media asks about best earning stories and starts off by showing their best earner, I can’t help but feel it’s a bragging post in disguise.
10. Belgium kicked the USA out of their own tournament, pants down. Karma is a bitch. Maybe they can ask the president to have the loss reversed?
