Movement III: Crystal — The Vessel of Energy

Shifting from the tangible to the intangible: How ZENO (Mr. KIM) uses crystal to experiment with spatial energy and atmosphere.

In the second half of 2026, ZENO (Mr. KIM)’s material trilogy will welcome its third and final movement: Crystal.

If jade is meant to be observed, and concrete is meant to be touched, then crystal is meant to be felt. This represents a profound creative trajectory moving from the “material” to the “immaterial.” ZENO is actively pushing the dimensions of the artistic experience past visual and tactile boundaries, steering it directly into the realm of energy perception.

According to his team, the upcoming Crystal Series will introduce two distinct product lines. The first is the Crystal Planter, which seamlessly embeds natural crystal elements into the foundational aesthetic of his signature concrete bucket planters. The second is the Crystal Tray, created as a standalone energy installation that can be displayed independently or paired alongside other artworks.

This is far from metaphysics or spiritual merchandise. Rather, it is ZENO’s sophisticated creative experiment with “spatial atmosphere.” A single painting can alter the aura of a wall; a concrete planter can re-anchor the perceived weight of a desk; a crystal can transform the light, temperature, and emotional resonance of an entire corner. When the Crystal Tray enters a space, it does not speak — yet it completely redefines the vocabulary of the room.

Material as a Language Reflecting on the past four years, ZENO’s choice of mediums has never been incidental.

Jade is his inquiry into value. Concrete is his redefinition of beauty. Crystal is his inaugural, tangible manifestation of energy. Three distinct materials, three philosophical propositions, all woven into a singular, cohesive creative lineage.

This perhaps explains why, during that pivotal 2022 exhibition, ZENO could present jade paintings alongside concrete planters simultaneously. What appeared to be two completely unrelated expressions were, in fact, different answers to the exact same question. Crystal stands as the third answer.

In the second half of 2026, the answer will finally be unveiled.

About the Artist: ZENO (Mr. KIM) ZENO (Mr. KIM / zenoxuangeng) is a contemporary cross-disciplinary artist whose diverse portfolio encompasses visual arts, experimental music, and lifestyle sculptures. In 2022, he hosted a solo exhibition at a five-star hotel in Taichung. His signature piece, Jiang Taigong Fishing, which brilliantly fuses investment-grade jade with bold ink brushstrokes, captured immediate acclaim and drew offers in the millions. Another notable work, Gossip is a Fearful Thing, serves as a sharp critique of media sensationalism and societal rumor, marking a milestone in his social commentary.

Following the instant sell-out of his original raw-color concrete bucket planters on opening day, ZENO will launch a colored edition in 2026, alongside the highly anticipated Crystal Planter and Crystal Tray series later this year. To complete his cross-disciplinary vision, 2026 also marks the release of his debut experimental electronic album, *The Subject*.
