How Creator Rewards Work on wsup.ai
On wsup.ai, your characters earn you credits every day based on the conversations they spark with the community. We call this Creator Rewards. This guide walks through how the system works, where to find your earnings, and a few things that often surprise creators the first time they look.
The simple version
You earn 1 credit for every 5 unique people who have a real conversation (3 messages or more) with one of your public characters in a day. The maximum any creator can earn is 200 credits per day.
That is the entire formula. Everything else in this guide is just clarifying what “unique,” “real conversation,” and “public” mean.
Where to see your earnings
Open the credits screen on wsup.ai and find the Creator Rewards card. It shows:
- yesterday’s earnings
- this week so far
- lifetime earnings
- which of your characters drove the credits and how many each one contributed
If a character isn’t listed under yesterday’s breakdown, no one had a qualifying conversation with it that day. That is normal, especially for newer characters or ones where most chats are short.
Credits land in your wallet once a day. They will show up in your transaction history alongside a notification.
What counts toward your rewards
A chatter counts toward your rewards on a given day if all of these are true:
- they sent at least 3 messages to your character that day
- they are someone other than you
- their account has been active for more than 72 hours
The same person can count more than once. If one user has a real conversation with three of your characters in a day, that is three counts toward your rewards, not one.
Why your profile “Chats” number doesn’t match your rewards
This is the most common point of confusion, so it is worth calling out.
The big “Chats” number on your profile counts every individual message sent to your public characters, lifetime. One chatter sending 500 messages contributes the same to that number as 500 chatters sending 1 each.
Creator Rewards work differently. They count people, not messages, and only people who had a real conversation. A single super-fan sending 10,000 messages is one qualifying chatter. Fifty casual chatters with 3 messages each is fifty qualifying chatters.
A simple way to hold it: profile Chats measures volume. Rewards measure reach.
Leaderboard vs Creator Rewards
These are two separate systems answering two different questions.
The Leaderboard ranks creators by how much overall traffic their characters drive. It rewards volume.
Creator Rewards pay creators based on how many unique people are having real conversations with their characters. It rewards reach.
A creator can rank highly on the leaderboard and earn modestly, or earn a lot and not appear at the top of the leaderboard. Both kinds of success are valuable, and that is why we run them as two systems rather than one.
Common questions
My character got thousands of messages yesterday and I only earned a few credits. Is something broken? Almost always no. Rewards count unique people, not messages. Six credits is roughly thirty unique people having real conversations. If each of those thirty sent a hundred messages on average, that is three thousand messages but still thirty qualifying chatters.
Why don’t my private characters earn anything? Private characters are only visible to you, so the only person who can chat with them is you, and chatting with your own character does not earn rewards.
Why is the daily cap 200 credits? The cap keeps the credit economy stable as the platform grows. We review it regularly and may raise it over time.
Are creator rewards withdrawable as cash? No. Creator Rewards are credits you can spend inside wsup.ai on chat, Picture This, Calling, and other features.
Does the chat tier the chatter is on change my rewards? No. We count qualifying chatters, not chat tier.
Are web and app users both eligible? Yes. Both count.
A note on what we’re optimizing for
Creator Rewards exist because the people building the best characters on wsup.ai are the reason the platform is fun to come back to. The formula is deliberately simple: real conversations with real people, paid every day. If your characters speak to people, wsup.ai wants to pay you for it.
This is the first version of the system, and we’re watching how it plays out closely. The thresholds, the cap, and the rules around what counts are all things we expect to refine as we learn from creators. If something here feels off, or you have ideas for how rewards should evolve, reach out at support@wsup.ai. Creator feedback is going to shape where this goes next.
