Life vs. Me — Round #3: Married Edition
A conversation where excuses don’t survive.

Sometimes I have conversations with life. Well… more like monologues, to be honest.
Here are some of them. If they make you laugh, great. If they make you reflect, even better… then they have served their purpose.
Enjoy.
Me: Marriage changes nothing. Life: Then why are you arguing about dishwasher philosophy at 10 PM?
Me: We communicate well. Life: You mean you both speak. Listening is still under development.
Me: Love is enough. Life: Add finances, stress, children, exhaustion, and unspoken expectations… then we’ll continue.
Me: We never fight. Life: Someone is swallowing things.
Me: We’re just tired. Life: Repeated long enough, exhaustion becomes a relationship style.
Me: Romance fades naturally. Life: Neglect also feels natural when repeated daily.
7.
Me: We know each other perfectly. Life: Then why are you still shocked during arguments?
Me: I shouldn’t have to ask. Life: Mind reading is quite difficult these days.
Me: I do everything around here. Life: Interesting how both spouses usually believe that.
Me: We’re staying together for the children. Life: Some people divorce for the children too.
Me: He changed since we married. Life: Marriage didn’t change him. It revealed him.
Me: We just lost the spark. Life: Sparks rarely survive resentment, routine, and small acts of neglect.
Me: I’m compromising. Life: Hopefully not dissolving.
Me: They should appreciate me more. Life: Did you communicate your needs… or silently accumulate disappointment?
Me: Marriage is hard work. Life: True. But constant survival mode is not the goal either.
Me: We’re fine. Life: “Fine” has ended many marriages emotionally long before legally.
Me: I don’t want to start over. Life: Fear of change has prolonged many unhappy stories.
Me: We’ve been together for so long. Life: Time measures duration, not necessarily connection.
If this resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone who might need a moment of clarity today. And if you’d like to see more reflections like this, a few claps (0–50) help me understand what speaks to you.
