Why I’m writing on Medium

My name is Moaaz Siddiq, and I am the owner of an Umrah taxi service called Harmaincab. We provide transportation services for pilgrims traveling between Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and other holy and nearby cities in Saudi Arabia. Every day, we serve people who are on one of the most important journeys of their lives. Being part of that journey has shaped how I think about service, responsibility, and communication.

So why am I writing on Medium?

Over the years, while running Harmaincab, I have spoken to thousands of pilgrims. Many of them are visiting Saudi Arabia for the first time. They often feel confused, anxious, or overwhelmed, especially when it comes to transportation, routes, costs, and local rules. I realized that many of these concerns are not properly explained online, or they are explained in a way that feels overly promotional and unclear.

I am writing on Medium to share what I have learned through real, on-the-ground experience.

This is not about selling services or marketing a business. It is about sharing clear information, practical insights, and honest observations that can help Umrah and Hajj travelers make better decisions. I believe that when people are well-informed, their journey becomes calmer and more meaningful.

Through my posts, I plan to write about topics such as Umrah travel planning, transportation between holy cities, common mistakes pilgrims make, and simple ways to avoid stress during the journey. I also want to share behind-the-scenes perspectives that most travelers never see, such as how traffic rules work near Haram areas, why certain pickup points are restricted, or how seasonal crowds change travel conditions.

I am not a professional journalist. I am someone who works daily in the Umrah travel industry. My writing will reflect that. I will keep things simple, direct, and honest. If something is confusing, I will say so. If something can be improved, I will explain how. My goal is not to sound impressive, but to be useful.

Another reason I am writing on Medium is to document my own learning. Running Harmaincab has taught me lessons about customer trust, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of clear communication. Writing helps me reflect on those lessons and organize my thoughts. In many ways, this platform is as much for my own growth as it is for readers.
