5 Quranic Ayat That Brought Me Closer to Allah

A Journey of Connecting with the Creator Through the Quran

Ever felt the infinite depth of the Quran and wondered where to begin to truly feel Allah’s presence?

For me, the journey started not with reading more, but with deeply contemplating less.

In this story I’ll be sharing five Quranic ayat that describe Allah, each one a revelation that brought me closer to Him.

These ayat, and the insights they offered, changed the way I saw my faith and my relationship with the Creator.

I hope that through them, you might find your own path to a more profound understanding of Him and His presence.

1. “Be!” And It Is!

˹He is˺ the Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, “Be!” And it is!

2. Truly Near

When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me, ˹tell them˺: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, so they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.

3. The Ever-Living, All-Sustaining

Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission?

He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge — except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.

4. Ever Merciful

He is the One Who showers His blessings upon you — and His angels pray for you — so that He may bring you out of darkness and into light. For He is ever Merciful to the believers.

5. Ever Kind

Allah is Ever Kind to His servants. He provides ˹abundantly˺ to whoever He wills. And He is the All-Powerful, Almighty.

These five verses opened my heart to a deeper understanding of Allah. I found a connection I didn’t know existed.

May we all find our path to Him through His words.
