What’s the biggest shock you’ve had with local cuisine while traveling?

During my trip to Shanghai in 2019, I had two of them.

  • Lotus roots : the girls ate them like we eat potato chips. When I tasted them, I almost threw up; they taste disgusting.

  • Spicy : That’s a hot pot in the photo . You dip your food in that boiling hot pot and cook it to your liking. Spoiler alert: that “broth” is super spicy. And I mean, by comparison, the spiciest thing you’ve ever eaten in Calabria would tickle your taste buds. Chinese spiciness will send you to the hospital.
