What is a Master’s in Human Computer Interaction all about?

Consider this scenario for a bit :

In the morning you get woken up by an alarm clock. You pick up your phone and check for messages, maybe some emails. While having breakfast, you read a book on your ipad ..scrolling through text using a stylus.

During the day you use a coffee machine, make calls on the cellphone, , work with a new AI software, photograph a beautiful plant that you see at lunch and video the swans on the river. You send these to your parents.

In the evening you spend an hour or so on a P.S., watch TV and program the video to record a late-night show too. You see as users we interact with all kinds of devices in parallel.

Human Computer Interaction

This is the world we are living in and the world that designers of interactive systems are designing for. Hence our responsibility as designers is to understand user behaviour, their needs and wants. I cannot stress this enough but in this job Empathy plays a major role.

So as a Master’s in HCI student I have been trained to keep up with systems & securities. Responsible innovation has been a non-negotiable in all of our projects. I have worked with different teams and associates to build systems which serve users of all demographics. Keeping an inclusive approach we have used multiple Research Methods to be efficient UX designers too.

All in all this doesn’t end here but you get the idea right !
