Your Smartwatch Can’t Diagnose You. But It Can Make You Pay Attention

We have become used to seeing our health through a screen.

A watch tells us how many steps we took, how well we slept, how stressed we might be, how fast our heart is beating, and whether we are “recovered” enough to train again. For some people, that feels empowering. For others, it feels uncomfortable.

And honestly, both reactions make sense.

Wearables sit in a strange place. They are not doctors. They are not perfect. They do not know everything about your body, your emotions, your habits, your medical history, or what kind of day you had. Still, they are becoming part of how millions of people understand their health.

So the real question is not whether wearables are good or bad.

The better question is: are we using them as tools, or are we letting them decide how we feel?
