Twins Flo and Kay Lyman were born in 1956 in New Jersey. Their mother, Eve, was ashamed, thinking they were mentally disabled, and isolated them in their young lives. They were tormented and bullied at school. Eve struggled with alcohol, while their father ignored the family, letting Eve deal with them. They had a younger sister Jane.

It would be years before the twins were finally diagnosed as savants. Their love for music led them to call into Dave Wagner's radio show, who was astonished at their knowledge of music. He wrote an article about them and contacted experts to test them in 1996. Wagner introduced the twins to Dick Clark, whom they idolized. Clark became a special friend to them, calling each year to wish them happy birthday until he died in 2012.

Dr. Nancy Isenberg diagnosed the twins as “calendrical savants.” Savant Syndrome is a rare condition that can show capabilities that exceed normal. The twins are rare and at the highest level, never forgetting a date, song, what they ate, or the weather on any given date.

In 2005, their sister Jane died. Jane had been their ‘mother’ and best friend caring for them after their parents died. Jane began taking them to restaurants, shops, museums, and cinemas. The twins are very special and have each other to be best friends.
