How you can control circulatory diseases for yourself
Heart and Blood vessels
Just think of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels;
-
Heart attacks (myocardial infarction),
-
Heart failure,
-
Coronary artery disease,
-
Hypertensive diseases (high blood pressure) and
-
Strokes
You see, read them again. Sounds unpleasant to human life…isn’t it? I guess you say yes.
So, that being the case, you as an individual, you have got to control them because doing that will reduce the risk for you to get it.
What you can do is actually simple. You just need to observe your life style.
Assess your life style on the following issues as listed below:
1. Physical exercise: Are you doing them regularly? If not then start it now. Put it in your daily schedule. You can have at least 100–150 minutes doing them weekly. But do medical check-up first before you start.
2. Diet: Are you eating fruits, lean proteins (less fat protein e.g. fish, chicken breast, beans etc.), whole grains and vegetables? If not then eat them regularly. They are healthy kind of diet to control circulatory diseases.
3. Alcohol: Are you a heavy drinker? If yes, then reduce too much drinking of alcohol if you cannot stop it. This will help you to reduce the risks of getting such diseases.
4. Smoking: Are you a chain smoker? If yes, then quit smoking. Again, this will reduce the risks of the disease particularly heart failure.
5. Stress: Are you overwhelmed or burned out? If yes, then remember the techniques such as meditation which can help you to manage stress. You can connect to friends or family. You can also do focus on your hobbies, sports or music.
6. Blood pressure: Do you have a habit of monitoring your blood pressure? If not, start now. Check your blood pressure regularly so that you can know its status if normal or abnormal. In case it is abnormal, you may ask for medication to manage it.
7. Diabetes: Are you diabetic? If yes, then manage it by such means as regular check up of your blood sugar so that to know if it is within the normal range. By doing this, it will help you to manage any abnormality found hence reduce the risk of circulatory diseases.
8. Aspirin: Are you taking aspirin drug? If yes there is no problem, but you need to note that is Aspirin therapy thus you should not take it yourself without consultation of the Doctor. You have to be prescribed by the doctor.
9. Cholesterol: Are you checking your level of cholesterol in blood? If not, then make a habit of checking it. By so doing you can maintain its optimal level by such means as medication and diet adjustment.
