Literary: Earth

I was envied by other celestials for being the only planet having mortals residing on its surface. I can’t even believe how I was so lucky among thousands of astronomical particles in this infinite universe. To my excitement, I hurriedly stormed to my room and walked directly to my closet. I searched for something spectacular to put on. I put ice caps on my upper and lower poles, sprinkled it with snow. I glittered my body with blue and green shade and a floating white over it. I open my pores to let the crystal waters flow on my exposed veins, often called rivers. The spaces between my bones became valleys, my moles became mountains, and my heart became the sea, for which all my veins connects. I sprinkled flowers on my clothes, and sang a constant serenade using instruments disguised as birds. I upgraded myself for them to be grateful for having me as their home and provide them with paradise-like biosphere. As time flies by, these mortals became a part of me, makes up my DNA, and been a modifier of my identity. I treasure them with all my heart.

One day, I felt a bit of unwell, my head hurts and my vision gets blurry. I noticed my poles were melting, and something is burning on my chest. My temperature increases and my sweat became black. I was so frightened with what I saw and hurriedly went to my physician. I just can’t believe what my physician told me, my precious mortals became rabid, ready to destroy everything around them. My physician prescribed me a pill that will instantly terminate these mortals but I declined taking it in hoping a rest would just make everything normal again.

Days later, my condition became worse, to the point I can’t get my feet on the floor and stayed on my bed. Other celestials that saw my condition seems to be very thankful for not having mortals living on them. My ice caps were collapsing and my heart became black. The green and blue shade I once glittered all over my body became black and gray. My crystal waters were blurry, and full of poisonous chemicals. My temperature constantly increases as my heartbeat slowly decreases.

I don’t know until when my antibodies could counter the harm that slowly paralyzes my system, if only I took the pill my physician prescribed me, I would have been better by now. But what matters the most is, death is always there and I accepted it since the moment I was being fused with these strong gravity pulling in every particles in this vast interstellar space. +

This will serve as my last content for this diary for I am too weak to even write a single word anymore. I never regretted having mortals residing in me.
