Background Story : Breakup in Love

Right in the 2nd grade of high school, I experienced the troubled period of being a teenager. Yup, break up. My (now ex) girlfriend cheated on me with another man. I also wondered why I could be so upset when I broke up.

It was during that time that I came across a faith booster video. Anybody know ? Yes, Ustadz Hanan Attaki. It was his video that change me at that time.

Towards the end of school, I, who was living in the Equatorial City (Pontianak) at that time, decided to study in the Kota Kembang, Bandung.

Where to Start Learning ?

In early 2018, I started thinking about studying. When I was a child, I was never equipped with proper Islamic knowledge, so I was never serious about Islam. Negligent prayer, fasting for half a day, dating, being lazy, having no purpose in life, that’s all. Of course I also have sins that I cannot express.

Basically, Islam has a guidebook, Al-Qur’an. So how do you read it ? Of course we have to be able to read it. The most basic thing for a Muslim is to be able to read Al-Qur’an.

So the first thing for friends who may have just hijra is to start looking for a place to learn to read Al-Qur’an. Why not learn it yourself ? The best method for learning how to read Al-Qur’an is to listen to a teacher’s reading. This is the method used by the angel Jibril alaihissalam to Rasulullah Shalallahu alaihi wasallam. Al-Qur’an was entrusted or passed down from word to word, from ear to ear, not through written text. The text is only a secondary method for preserving Al-Qur’an, while the main thing is talaqqi with a teacher.

I feel very grateful to remember that at that time I was sitting in the north courtyard of the Salman Mosque (often called North Korea) with a group of people I didn’t know. Gradually, I finally got to know each other and became close to my mentor at that time. I am very grateful to Mas Oji, because thanks to him I was able to read Al-Qur’an correctly, and it was because of his recommendation that I finally met a famous Sheikh in Indonesia who ultimately remains my current teacher in the field of Qiro’at Al -Qur’an.
