We all want our views and earnings to skyrocket, as the picture suggests. don’t we?

Be honest. Why did you join the Medium platform?

Was it to get followers, earn income from writing, or interact with other like-minded members?

I’m a rare breed with the Medium platform, in that I joined to become a better writer and that remains the case.

Yes. If I can get more views and income, I won’t be unhappy. Of course not.

I want to become the best writer I can be. Something I can use in various settings and will reward me regularly.

I’m not in denial about the earnings issue of late (which is shocking). My main purpose is to take my new writing skills and apply them correctly.

I’m fond of Medium and all it can offer to genuine writers.

I stress the word “genuine”, as it’s in limited supply due to the nature of how members operate on the platform.

The ones who clap, follow, and even subscribe to your stories. And yet DON’T look at your existing work.

What is that all about?

This happens daily and I find the situation perplexing.

Even with all of the recent and necessary changes. You’re getting a steady influx of these types.

I’ll get this experience with this article because they haven’t bothered to read it. And the ironic thing is that it’s about their type.

Karma has a strange way of biting you back, so when people want to go down that route, it won’t serve them well!

Note. You should look at the path you take on Medium with the care and attention it requires.

If we all take a healthy path, Medium can (once again) be a great platform for writers.

This is subject to members being part of the community for the correct reasons. And not trying to gain some sort of writing advantage.

Don’t take the lazy route and fast-track your views and earnings.

Be considerate to the platform and other writers and watch things take off.

The main thing is to enjoy your writing. Have a passion for what you do and embrace the Medium community.
