EventMag.Me Issue 2 Is Out. And We’re Already Working on Issue 3.

This issue was assembled during one of the most unusual quarters the GCC events market has seen in years.
In February 2026, a geopolitical shock reset the calendar of an entire region overnight. Hundreds of events were cancelled or postponed. Western corporate demand vanished. The industry held its breath.
And then — kept working.
That is the thread running through Issue 2 of EventMag.Me. Not a crisis report. Not a damage assessment. A documentation of how professionals respond when the floor moves beneath them.
What’s Inside Issue 2
The contributors to this issue share a refusal to operate on autopilot.
Rhiannon Downie-Hurst on fam trips that generate real ROI rather than Instagram content. Oleg Kryuchkov on technology that turns engagement into measurable outcomes. Labeed Assidmi on Saudi Arabia rewriting the rules of experiential delivery. Guido Sperzaga on replacing accidental networking with intentional connection. Denis Panchenko on the shift from excess to precision in event design.
Gauri Chadha rebuilt an entire event universe in 30 days when her venue fell through two weeks before the show. Artem Kulikov reframes conference catering as a production system, not a hospitality function. Alina Shlyakhtova writes about hosting a gala dinner in the desert when hotels couldn’t - and about Abu Dhabi Tourism personally showing up for stranded guests during the worst of the uncertainty. Because that’s what the right partner does.
None of these are comfort reads. They are arguments - made by practitioners - for a more deliberate industry.
The market did not break. It adapted. Sometimes elegantly, sometimes under enormous pressure, sometimes by turning a flood into a stage effect. But it moved forward.
This issue is about the professionals who knew how.
Our Vision for EventMag.Me
When we launched this magazine, our goal was simple and ambitious at the same time: to build a publication that documents how the GCC event industry actually works - not how it presents itself.
Not trends. Not promotion. Not success stories polished until they lose all texture.
We wanted to capture the operational logic. The decision-making under real constraints. The risks that were managed, and the ones that weren’t. The standards emerging from practice, not from conference panels.
EventMag.Me is created by practitioners, for practitioners. Every contributor is someone who has been in the room when a hard call had to be made. That’s not a tagline. That’s an editorial filter.
Issue 1 introduced the format. Issue 2 tested it under pressure. Both held up.
What’s Next: Issue 3 - Technology & The Future of Events
We are already deep into Issue 3 - and this one is focused on technology.
Not technology as a trend. Not “AI is changing everything” in the abstract. We’re looking at specific tools, platforms, and systems that event professionals in the GCC are actually using - what works, what doesn’t, and what decisions led there.
Inside Issue 3:
- Event tech stacks that actually get used on show day
- Apps, automation, and AI tools built around real event workflows
- How data is changing the way we measure delegate experience
- The gap between what tech vendors promise and what operators need
- Practical frameworks for evaluating and implementing new systems
This issue will be distributed at Middle East Event Show, EventMania Festival, and Arabian Travel Market - three of the region’s most significant industry gatherings.
Want to Contribute?
If you work in event technology - as a practitioner, vendor, or integrator -and you have something real to say, we’d like to hear from you.
We are not looking for product features or company profiles. We’re looking for operational insight: how you implemented something, what broke, what you learned, what you’d do differently.
Spots for Issue 3 are limited. Reach out now.
