# It Is Not About the Future. It Is About the Present.

It is easy to fear that AI will do something to us.

I read a great deal about all of this. I write with AI. I code with AI. I wrote entire novels with AI when only a handful of people even knew the term. I worked with computer-generated poetry, a field later absorbed by AI. I made computer-programmed art with FORTRAN and Processing, now largely replaced by prompt art.

Today, I read yet another article. It “explained” FAiTE — Fear of AI Transforming Everything: “Not a formal DSM diagnosis yet, but a clinical reality — something specific enough, consistent enough, and common enough that psychiatrists thought it deserved a name.”

Gosh. Another AI-generated article that does not admit it was written by a machine. I hate this so much: people writing about what they fear while using the very thing they claim to fear — not because of the fear itself, but because of reading time, clicks, and the small refund they receive for occupying your attention. They do it daily.

They know the window of opportunity is closing fast. So now they generate, generate, generate. They flood the world. You read how to make a thousand dollars a day by prompting a few fashionable catchwords, and so they do exactly that. Even the headline follows the pattern. It is a line designed to produce fear. It is the AI pattern. And I wonder: Is anyone really writing about the fear of creativity, the transformation of language, the disappearance of style? Or are they merely producing page after page to steal your time and collect a kickback from Medium?

Let me introduce a new term: FAiTED — Fear of AI Transforming Everything Daily. Now click. Share. Read. I am no better than the others. At least I admit it.

You know that structure. You have seen it before. Daily.

That is the flow you fear. That is the flow you receive. That is the flow we deserve.

Soon, AI systems may learn to write differently. Then these articles will no longer spread across page after page. They may shrink into something shorter, sharper, and less profitable. Will the fear disappear with them? This text was not written by AI. You can tell. No AI writes this badly.
