Why was I punished? I did nothing wrong and yet- I was punished. I did everything I was told, behaved like a priestess should. I made sure the altar was well kept and spotless. I had performed sacred rituals to the best of my ability so that Athena can see how prestine my conduct and discipline was. I had made a vow to mirror Athena’s wisdom, warefare and absolute purity. I WAS LOYAL. AND STILL I WAS PUNISHED!
No one believed me, til this day, stories are written about me on how I, the wicked Medusa, SEDUCED the almighty sea-god POSEIDEON and desecrated Athena’s sacred space by laying with him at the temple.
How foolish I was to believe that Athena would protect me and listen to my pleas. “I was assaulted!” I begged her. “Please believe me, Pallas Athena, bright eye daughter of Zeus!”
