Rest Peacefully, Gary Ellis

A short tribute to a fine writer and wonderful man

I am heartbroken to share the terrible news that our most dedicated volunteer Editor here at the Cuppas, Gary Ellis, has passed away after a short illness.

Gary had been in the hospital and reached out to me three weeks ago, worried that he was letting the team down as he couldn’t fulfill his editing slot. That was Gary: responsible, devoted and passionate about everything he cared about.

Gary’s deep faith and ministerial work were the centre of many of his Medium scribes. But he also had a quirky side, writing about everything from his beloved cats to frustrations with passwords and his love-hate relationship with bananas.

His passing is a huge loss for his followers, readers, fellow editors and friends here on Medium. To honour his memory, I encourage you all to write about Gary and share your thoughts here at the Cuppa.

Rest in Peace, dear friend. You will be sorely missed.
