NTAC Strengthens Bilateral Ties with Tunisia

THE DG/CEO NTAC, FLANKED ON BOTH SIDES BY OFFICIALS AT THE MINISTRY OF ART AND CULTURE, TUNIS

TUNIS, TUNISIA — The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) has deepened its bilateral relationship with Tunisia through strategic engagements in the education and arts & culture sectors.

Leading the Nigerian delegation, the NTAC Director-General, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, held high-level meetings with officials of the Tunisian Ministry of Education and Ministry of Arts and Culture in Tunis.

Key Highlights of the Visit

• Expanded Technical Cooperation: Exploring new areas of collaboration in education, arts, cultural exchange, and manpower development.

• Capacity Building: Promoting mutual growth through capacity building, cultural diplomacy, and the exchange of expertise.

• Deployment of Skilled Professionals: Facilitating the deployment of Nigerian professionals to support Tunisia’s national development priorities.

• Academic Collaboration: Deepening technical exchange programmes in academic collaboration, creative industry development, and vocational skills enhancement.

This visit aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his 4D Foreign Policy thrust, which focuses on:

• Democracy — Promoting democratic values and good governance.

• Development — Fostering economic cooperation and growth.

• Demography — Harnessing Nigeria’s population potential for national progress.

• Diaspora — Engaging Nigerians abroad to advance national interests.

Speaking during the visit, the NTAC Director-General emphasized that the engagement underscores Nigeria’s commitment to promoting African solidarity and sustainable partnerships.

Tunisian officials commended Nigeria’s role in advancing African integration and expressed readiness to reciprocate the gesture through strengthened bilateral frameworks.

The NTAC scheme continues to promote skills transfer, volunteerism, and South-South cooperation, with Tunisia expressing keen interest in collaborating with Nigeria across various sectors including Science and Technology, Engineering, Artisanal Skills, Medical Sciences, and Cultural Diplomacy.
