Inclusivity in Learning

Mahatma Gandhi once said that “An inclusive society is one where every person feels respected, valued, and connected through compassion.”

We all know the significance of this statement. This statement beautifully explains the importance of equality, in a time when we continue to see people in our country divided on the basis of class, caste, religion, and other social differences. In such time, it becomes important for us not only to understand and write about this idea in our exams, but also to make the next generation aware of the importance of inclusivity in our society. Inclusivity is not just limited to living together but also respecting each other’s culture and values.

The best way to teach the next generation about this idea is by providing them education, However, education which should be the right of every child, is still a dream for many children which they are yet to achieve. This is why it becomes important for all of us to support and encourage education in every possible way.

Fortunately, there are people in our society who want to bring a change and make their society better. Today, I am here to inform you about ‘Pehchaan The Street School’, an organization which has people with the same mindset.

About Pehchaan The Street School- Pehchaan The Street School is an 11-year-old non-profit and non-government organization which believes in giving identity to every child through providing them education. They not only teach students in their classrooms but also create an inclusive environment where everyone can learn and grow together. The organization also teaches students important values like kindness, sharing, and respect.

There are also many people who help the organization in teaching our students about the importance of inclusivity and bringing a change. Recently, some students from Ladakh Student Union visited the organization’s GTB Nagar centre and brought snacks and stationery items for them. They met our students and enjoyed their day with them. Our students also enjoyed the meet-up and were happy while receiving gifts from them. This meet-up not only made their day, but also taught them an important lesson, the lesson of inclusivity. We are grateful to those students of Ladakh Student Union who helped us in teaching this important lesson to our students. Their small effort brought big smiles to many faces.

Lastly, I just want to say that inclusivity is not just a chapter in a book, but also a life skill that our next generation really needs to learn. And for this purpose, the present generation of our nation needs to take an oath to educate the country’s future about inclusivity.
