Lost in the Appalachian Mountains-The lost tribe

Part 1-> Lost in the Appalachian Mountains

Part 2-→ Lost in the Appalachian Mountains

The lost tribe was folklore. The people of Ohio knew that the tribe was back in the forest. Deep in the forest. Saying goes that the tribe was located only in Ohio. The story goes that the tribe was once accepted by the rest of the community, years ago, but then the tribe started to inbreed and things went south. The main road was blocked off and there was a gate put up. Overtime the gate and the road became to disappear from the world. The gate became part of the forest. The road went back to the forest. Generations later people forgot about the lost tribe. It became folklore.

Lucy was done. She had nothing left. she collapsed on the ground and waited for the bugs, animals, and everything else to eat her. No food to eat and out of water. Lucy laid there for hours. The sound of something in the forest made her want to see and look who was there. Or what was there. A girl with black hair and tattered clothing stood in between the trees. Her face dirty and she looked like she was maybe born with a defect. Lucy couldn’t put her finger on it. The girl made her way over to lucy. Lucy made an attempt to get away but the girl was faster and much more built then lucy. Lucy was worn and tired. If this was the end, then this is the end. The girl lifted her up with ease and carried her. Lucy was too tired to fight. The girl carried her for what felt like hours.

It was late evening, since the sun was going down. Lucy was in and out of consciousness. The girl looked about to be in her 30’s. She was built, not steroid built but strong and not afraid to take on someone. When lucy opened her eyes, she was on the edge of the small village. The village was covered in vines and losts of tress surrounded it. Lucy didn’t know where she was or who the girl was. Lucy closed her eyes and waited.

Lucy woke up to the sound of whispers. A group of people were pointing and staring at her. Lucy could see the sun, was it a new day? The girl with the black hair was in the room and was preparing something. The girl shoos the crowd away and the girl brought over some food. At least it looked like food. Lucy started to sit up. The girl put her hand on lucy’s stomach and shook her head. Lucy couldn’t understand what was going on. Was this some sort of joke? where was this place? The girl made gestures to eat and lucy obeyed. It wasn’t chicken and it wasn’t fast food. But it tasted ok. The girl sat there and watched lucy eat the whole thing. Lucy didn’t care what it was, she was hungry and needed some food. After eating lucy could tell she needed a shower. But she didn’t think this place offered those kinds of accommodations. The girl with the black hair took off out of the blue and ran fast. Lucy was confused. Why, did she run off? A man entered the room with a disfigured face. He looked to be old was dirtier than the girl with the black hair. He came down to the ground and pointed to Lucy. Lucy just said, “I need help, I was lost.” The man made a weird statement,” you stay you be tribe.” Lucy wanted to go home. She wanted the girl with black hair to take her back home.

It was now the beginning of October, and the search was starting to die down. Less volunteers and less people were looking for lucy. The Sheriff had gotten busier with town duties, so the strong part of the search had become weaker. Lucy’s parents and siblings and friends had started to lose hope. They stared to look other places, but no hope was found. One old volunteer said to look at the lost tribe. When people get wind of that the community is going to go into panic. It was hard to find the lost tribe. Not exactly welcoming or nice to say the least. Later that week the old volunteer went into the forest with a few others and looked for the old road and gate. The old volunteer led the group into the forest. The forest was thick and hard to see anything. As the group went deeper and deeper into the forest the bugs got worse. It was close to evening when they reached the so-called road. The lost tribe had put up signs on the gate, and the gate was rusted and not able to be open. The signs were not welcoming. The volunteer said, “if we go in, we have to be careful. These people are not ideal for visitors.” the volunteer and the five others went around the gate. But before they could go any further the sound of a high pitch scream shot through the air. The scream was that of a girl. Everyone turned around and headed back to the clearing. If Lucy was there, she was on her own now.
