Almost forgot this was the whole point

Almost forgot this was the whole point

ideas scattered somewhere between the bedsheets
As I was randomly surfing through Instagram reels, I stumbled upon that wholesome trend of people sharing their slowed, loved, and lived cute moments like sipping coffee in the woods, swimming with Nemo and dorks in the ocean, dancing like no one is watching, captioned, “Almost forgot this was the whole point.”
And just like that, I remembered mine…
My mother’s birthday weekend. A hotel room that looked like creativity had exploded all over it with suitcases wide open, room service dishes on the side table, ideas scattered somewhere between the bedsheets and the window. We went there with no plan, no checklist, and no pressure to “make the most of it.”
We quite literally… did nothing. And yet, in that mess, I felt everything.
The silence, the laughter, the boredom, the moments, the rediscovery. Somewhere between the stillness and the desserts, something in me clicked, like my inner creative had been hiding under the covers waiting for the network to get lost and my thoughts to get loud. In a world that is always telling us to “do more”, that weekend channelled the movie Eat Pray Love’s phrase “dolce far niente”.
Turns out, the art of doing nothing is still an art.
