Denise Jones Adler’s Artistic Philosophy
“Assembling found elements from magazines and photographs, I transform images we see in our day-to-day into otherworldly landscapes and portraits. In Beautiful Mess, the beauty lies within the disparate images that reveal itself upon closer inspection.
From contemplative scenes to mythological landscapes and soaring figures, the beauty lies in the detailed yet effortless construction, showcasing the beauty created from the mess.”

Interview with Denise Jones Adler
Q: Denise, can you please describe your art in four words? ➡ Mystical. Thoughtful. Iconic. Expansive.
Q: What inspires your art? ➡ “Life, and all its ups and downs.”
Q: How would you describe your experience at Clio Art Fair? ➡ “My experience at Clio Art Fair has been rewarding in so many different ways. Of course, it’s been gratifying to sell work and connect with collectors, but one of the greatest benefits has been meeting so many talented artists who have become friends, colleagues, and collaborators over the years. As someone who participated in the very first Clio Art Fair that Alessandro Berni organized, I’ve had the opportunity to watch it grow and evolve. I deeply appreciate Alessandro’s aesthetic vision and the dedication he’s brought to building Clio into such a dynamic and engaging fair year after year. It’s a unique platform that continues to foster meaningful connections and exciting artistic dialogue.”
Featured Artwork: Medusa’s Fate (2025)
In Medusa’s Fate, Adler reimagines the mythological figure through an intricate collage of magazine imagery and found materials. Layers of botanical forms, fragmented portraits, and organic textures merge into a striking composition that balances strength and vulnerability. The work encourages viewers to look beyond the surface, discovering hidden details that gradually reveal themselves while reflecting themes of transformation, mythology, and identity.
