Landman is so politically incorrect it’s bloody glorious

So Landman season 2 is over. What do you mean you don’t watch Landman? What do you even do with your life? OK, I’ll give you a brief recap to wet your whistle. Listen, I agree with you! Billy Bob Thornton (BBT) will always be “Ed Crane” in the Coen Brothers black and white masterpiece The Man Who Wasn’t There (2001) or the deranged psychopath in the TV adaptation of the Coen’s undisputed modern cinema classic Fargo. I agree with you! But here as “Tommy” he starts every day with a cigarette as he watches the sun rise on his back porch (his Dad is rather fond of sunsets and young strippers who moonlight as physiotherapists, but let’s not go down that dusty, tangential road here) and Tommy’s day in between the rising and setting of the Great Fire God of the Sky? Well he’s stressed beyond belief (he’s going to have a heart attack but hopefully not before season 7) and he roams the oilfields of West Texas telling any and everyone to fuck off before returning home to his ex-wife he adores to routinely piss her off! There’s some other stuff too (birth, life and death), and BBT is gloriously politically incorrect.

Like Landman in fact.

“Dear Diary” is a new concept I’m running with for the new year. Short, punchy, irreverent, spoiler free, telling you everything and nothing about that day’s particular journal entry.
