Male Students of Matsanaba Showcase Culinary Creativity in Cassava Cooking Competition at Perkamuda

The male student delegation from MTs Negeri 6 Bantul actively participated in a local-ingredient cooking competition featuring cassava as the main component, held during the 2026 DIY Perkamuda event on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The festive gathering took place at the Rama Shinta Camping and Development Ground within the historic Prambanan Temple Complex.

During the exciting contest, the boys channeled their creativity into crafting delicious Chocolate Cassava Balls (Bola-Bola Singkong Coklat). Working together with high enthusiasm and seamless teamwork, the participants skillfully transformed ordinary cassava into an appealing and mouth-watering culinary presentation.

This culinary challenge served as an excellent medium for the students to nurture their creative thinking, practice essential cooperation, and learn how to elevate local food ingredients into valuable and marketable culinary products.

Mrs. Wiwik Winarni, serving as the supervising mentor, expressed her admiration for the boys’ high spirits throughout the competition. She noted that the activity provided a wonderful, positive experience for the participants to cultivate independence, teamwork, and the courage to innovate. “The children were exceptionally enthusiastic and coordinated well. They successfully demonstrated true creativity through simple yet delightful cassava preparations,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of MTsN 6 Bantul warmly commended the students for their active participation in the 2026 DIY Perkamuda camp. He hopes that such engaging programs will continuously shape students into creative, independent, and responsible individuals equipped with a strong spirit of collaboration.
