I reached till 500 episodes in One Piece.

And here is what I learned.

Firstly, I was not sure if I should start such a big Anime. But I saw some episodes and got curious about what exactly One Piece is. As I have reached till 500, I realised there is so much to learn, and the storytelling is so beautiful.

To achieve big dreams, it’s okay to take help.

Luffy wants to become the king of pirates. And he never hesitated to ask for help. He never questioned himself, and he saw people’s capabilities and decided they were gonna join this journey. I realised life is a long journey, and it’s okay to ask for help from others. I found that we focus on the wrong things, like, will I be rude to ask for help?, will I be a bother to them?, I don’t want anyone’s help because I am capable of doing everything on my own. But you need good people; they make the journey more beautiful. There is no point in reaching your goals alone, if you don’t have your people to enjoy it with you.

Let people be; don’t try to change people according to your convenience.

This was one of the best things I learned. When I was first introduced to Usopp characters. I thought he was irritating and not as cool as others. But as the series progresses, you can see that Usopp is also an important part of the team. There are many people in our lives who we find irritating, but rather than changing them, if we just focus on our friendship and do our thing, we remove a lot of clutter from our lives. Stop giving your peace to other people’s behaviours. You should not carry the irritation of not liking someone. Just leave it and focus on your companionship and your goals.

It doesn’t matter if some don’t agree; all that matters is that you agree.

Your dreams are for yourself, not for others. It’s a little hard to understand being a people pleaser. Like, how can I do things that everyone I know won’t like or agree with me? A little scary to be honest. But as it’s you. No one can feel it like you, and no one can do it like you. Luffy cares about his people and his dream. He doesn’t waste time making people understand his dream or his hunger for adventure. I don’t know the right word, but it takes courage/ simple mind/ not overthinking/ plain believe in yourself to just do the next best thing you know, and not calculate the repercussions. Your dreams are for yourself. Don’t waste time making people understand.

It’s important to take a break and upskill yourself.

Every phase of life or the next journey can ask for a different you. It’s important to understand when to upskill. You can’t stay the same and go through life saying things are getting harder. No one can say that all I know is enough to get through life. Rather than pushing your self to your limit in a fights of life. Increase the limit. So what was the hardest thing for you before turns into a base line for your next adventures.

Never expect your journey to be same as the ones, who has walked that path before you.

You should not obsess over people who have already figured it out because you decide how you will level up. Luffy never asked people what it was like beyond the Grand Line?. What is it like in the New World?. He was always curious about his own adventures and never cared about other people’s experiences, whether good or bad. Luffy did not follow the roadmap; the other great pirate created he just went ahead and did the next best thing.

You don’t have to know every skill.

As someone who wants to learn every skill. It was very fascinating to me to think that I did not need to be the best in everything. I can be a good reader and suck at cooking. Though I do not suck at it. But I learned that you have to give yourself the liberty, that you can’t be best at everything. Being a human, conquer as many skills as you can. But don’t beat yourself up in skills that you can’t do just because others do so effortlessly. Keep trying, but not every job is yours to do.

As I am watching more and more One Piece. There is so much to discover, so much to learn and unlearn. It’s an exciting journey going forward in the series, and I know there is much more to learn. It’s a beautiful chaos. (no one asked, but Chopper is my favourite.)

Day 6 of 365.

Thank you for reading.
