When you watch television, you can see nepotism. It is your choice because you help create it. A child of a celebrity gets a broadcasting job and does not have one iota of talent.
However, you still watch the show only because they are the child of someone with that famous name. Shame on you because you are contributing to nepotism.
Those who carry a famous name already appeal to the news industry because the honchos know that the name will sell and get plenty of ratings. Do know who gives them those ratings? Of course, you do. The viewers give them the ratings based on their fame and not their talent.
I wonder what is wrong with us because celebrities fascinate us so much. Our stupidity lures us into the lives of celebrities. Some people read every article or watch every show about them. They are really just regular people and nothing special. Those who do not carry the famous name are more special because they worked really hard to create a name for themselves from nothing.
Someone, who graduated from an ivy league college, will struggle to get a televised news job because a nepo baby is interested in the job. It is a shame that many geniuses will be overlooked for the news job because they do not have that famous name.
Nepotism has been around for ages, and it is a form of discrimination based on social class rather than race. The word nepotism comes from the Italian word nepotismo, which is based on the Latin root nepos signifying nephew. Nepotism has always been heavily criticized, and it is a social disease. When people get a job based on who they know and not what they know, then nepotism occurs.
Life should be fair for all, but nepotism shows how life is very unfair. Only you can stop nepotism by tuning into television channels that have journalists of real caliber. Many times they will be regular people, who do not have famous names, which should be more relatable to the viewers. Eventually, they may become famous based on their hard work and talent and not based solely on a name.
