ADIOS!

Life is full of regrets but what’s important is that we keep living.

There wouldn’t be a day that passes by with nothing to regret. We all experience it in different ways. “I should’ve just talked to them”, “I should’ve keep quiet”, “I should’ve speak up”. We all live and so we all regret. And there is no way for us to escape from this massacre that makes us all wake up at night, trying to blink away the thoughts of “what if” that roams never-endlessly in your mind until it gets tired.

We would also subsequently, experience regret in relationships. Of course no matter how healthy the relationship can get, you will still feel regret to some extent. May it be sunshine and rainbows there are still days where you feel like giving up on it. Our regret could go from “I wish I’d just tell her.” and “I should’ve been more honest”. And to be honest, regret is a harmful thing to experience. Because in the end what if the things you regret not doing will be the one ruining your whole relationship. So take chances, if what you’re doing is wrong, you could always apologise. Do big things, chase her, hug her and never let go.

Without any exceptions, if you are at a stage where you desperately want someone. Go and tell them. Tell them how you feel so giddy when you see them. How you want to start something new. Or maybe how you want to pursue them seriously. Don’t just stand in the alley near their house waiting for them to come to you. You’re the one who needs to take this step before they call and say “Don’t call me tonight”.

Either way, even with regrets pilling up with every moment, every second of your lives, we have to keep going. It’s your choice whether you stand in the rain and look miserable or stand in the rain and look like you’ve won the lottery. It’s your choice to let yourself drown or swim across. It’s your choice to live with regret miserably or to live regret with appreciation.

Believe me, we don’t have much time left to live. So live it with grace, fun, fulfilment. Leave the past in the past, and patiently wait for the future. Leave them for your happiness. Live life for yourself. Because in the end what matters most is what you do with the present. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just had a bad interview, or your girlfriend dumped you. This is what life is and it is your mindset that makes a difference in whether your life would be black and white or a mix of beautiful infinite numbers of colour combinations.

You have regrets, so what? All of that doesn’t matter anymore as long as you learn to embrace the present as it is. So remember, whenever you regret something just say to them,
