The Truth About Chemo

Movies don’t quite get it right

When I was told my cancer treatment would require chemotherapy and radiation, I was petrified.

Automatically, my brain took me to many of the depictions they betrayed in the movies.

You saw patients always bald, violently throwing up, and deathly ill.

I am not saying those things don’t happen.

Chemo is rough on the body.

That can’t be denied.

However, it’s on a case-by-case basis.

I’ve been sick. yes. Nausea and some bothersome effects.

However, the effects are combated with nausea medicines.

Not every one looses their hair.

Chemo is rough without a doubt, but it’s nothing as dramatic as it’s portrayed on the big screen.
