Why I’m Loving My Creative Girl Era

It’s beats doomscrolling and wasting hours doing useless things online

I’m in my creative girl era, and boy is it bringing more life to my veins! Creating and sharing more of my work and insights is making my life much more fulfilling and allows me to live in vivid mode.

I’m loving creating things and sharing them online. Although I also create a lot offline. One aspect of my creative expansion is being motivated to grow my online presence and business. Regardless, that isn’t the all of it. I like to be more of a creator than a consumer in general. My life works better that way. It balances me out and makes me feel less of a void inside.

When we create more, life is richer, it’s as though we taste it more. We become active participants in our own lives, and see the value in our own contributions. Rather than constantly consuming the creative output of others.

Because the less we create, the more our voice and our ability to create gets stifled over time. We’re also more likely to become distracted with the currents of life, that doesn’t always serve us.

I’m realising more and more that I want to express as much of myself as I can. There is something so magical about sharing what’s within into the world. It’s keeps me inspired and I hope to bring inspiration to others to step into their creative powers.

Creating more can be seen as an act of radical self acceptance, and is countercultural. In the sense that it goes against the hyper-consumerist narrative, permeating the socioeconomic fibre of society.

The narrative that encourages us to be consumers...all the time.

I choose instead to create more than I consume. This fulfills me more than watching silly social media memes, brain rot videos or empty reels for hours on end.

  • I want to write more
  • draw more
  • paint more
  • move more and create space in my body
  • do more art in various forms
  • use my hands more
  • bake more
  • make new recipes
  • learn new creative skills
  • share my story
  • use my voice
  • and create in as many way as I can

On days where I haven’t created much, life feels emptier and less meaningful. As though wasted and shallow.

On most days you’ll find me

  • cooking something
  • indoor gardening or pressed flower making
  • making natural remedies
  • fermenting
  • making natural skin and body care products form scratch
  • reordering my home space in creative ways
  • writing out new ideas
  • creating a digital product
  • tending to my plants
  • publishing here on Me-di-um
  • writing poetry
  • working on my work in progress books or self publishing a new book or journal
  • thinking up ways to grow my online projects
  • doodling
  • creating other visual art
  • and more..

Creating makes my life richer, more fulfilled and expansive. It’s how I’d rather live.

Some of my (non digital/online) creative works in recent times

(raw vegan food creations, dried floral arrangements, indoor gardening and plant setup, visual art, natural skincare creations, tea elixirs)
