I have written in English for a month. AI polished my text. (I still doubt it is natural.) But I found the style I want. Simple words. Strong structures. The AI saw this too. It recommended Hemingway.
Classic but Difficult
I bought The Old Man and the Sea. I want to hack his style. But everything about the book is difficult except the words, and they are simple and easy. I even thought [[the words are too easy to understand what they mean]], but I understood nothing. Not being able to understand gave me more motivation, ironically.
How to Study?
First, I read five pages without stopping. Then I look for sentences to hack. I write them down. I analyze words, structures, and nuance. I create my own sentence using his method. Then I apply it here.
Is it Working?
To be honest, it is the first day. I cannot say for sure. But the study makes me write better. Writing feels easier. My English brain is warm. Applying it right away makes it stick.
Watch Me Improve
Today, I read only five pages. I can’t tell if it’s good or bad now. But I believe it works. I will write about this when I finish the book. You will see the difference. I will not stop. I hope studying with Hemingway is not a false sense of achievement.
