Empty. Ready to begin collecting new teachings, new dreams, and old ways of being. This is what I call our Burn Basket. It hangs on our foyer closet door. To us, it symbolizes gratitude, growth, accountability, and purification.

We often practice fire ceremony as a sacred time of prayer, forgiveness and letting go. Last night before bed, I felt a strong message that a morning fire to honor the powerful, present eclipse energy was absolutely in order. So, before anyone else woke up, Jason and I went out and started a sacred fire.

Our basket was quite full, not surprisingly so we’re our hearts and minds. Jason opened with a prayer, we offered tobacco and sage. Layering those medicines between the items we burned. We sipped our hot coffee. Piece by piece we talked through, shared our fears, doubts, and lessons as we burned each item.

As the basket emptied, we released it all. Out of our hearts, minds, and hands. Laying it all before Creator for the highest good of all. Past, present, and most importantly, we honored our descendants (7 generations).

A sweet sunrise surrender deep with meaning and gratitude for this life and all who are committed to and continue to support IAOMAI as a global mission of peace and healing.

As always, starting with our own peace and healing. We aren’t perfect and we are quite human, with many fears, doubts and worries. And if this commUNITY is to be a place to run when you want to run away, then it is also a sacred fire to hold our humanness, burn away the assumptions, judgements, and negative beliefs. A place to rise from the ashes. And it always will be. Spirit has assured me of that.

I learned a long time ago, you cannot give what you don’t have. This morning, thanks to the sacred fire, Jason and I both have a greater peace, deeper healing and our greatest intentions are to hold hearts from this place. To create, sustain, and hold spaces for all who wish to find true peace and healing in their hearts. However that may look.

You are so deserving of love…

and so are we.

Our Burn Basket supports the creation of our intentions through releasing items in a ceremonial fire. We incorporate sage and tobacco in our fire ceremonies as a form of respect and puritifcation of these intentions.
