Your mind is a monkey. Peace begins the moment it stops jumping.
I was wondering what the mind would look like if I had to give it the form of an animal.
Your mind is a monkey. Peace begins the moment it stops jumping.

I was wondering what the mind would look like if I had to give it the form of an animal.
I found this:
The mind is like a monkey. And thoughts are the branches.
The monkey loves to jump, from one branch to another. It’s his work. It’s his nature.
But this very nature is what exhausts him. The more thoughts you have, the more restless your monkey becomes. And the more restless it becomes, the deeper you fall into overthinking.
So maybe the cure to overthinking isn’t fighting the monkey, but telling it to stay still.
No jumping. Not unless it’s necessary. In this world, very few have learned to calm their monkey. One of them was Gautama Buddha.
When someone asked him how to stop thoughts, he said: “Just be.”
Being yourself means touching the totality of your own existence. No conditioning. No societal programming. No borrowed identities. Nothing added. Nothing performed.
Just you — existing.
